PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Listening Table is a 90-minute creative gathering where participants respond to meaningful life themes through simple art materials, writing, collage, conversation, and storytelling. Designed specifically for senior and elder care communities, this workshop leads with creative expression, memory-making, and deep social connection.
Our primary goal is to provide a gentle, nonthreatenng, and highly engaging space for participants to review their lives creatively and walk away with a tangible, visual artifact of their personal story.
Featured Pilot Workshop
This introductory, standalone session serves as a gentle bridge into creative reflection. Participants create intuitive visual maps exploring:
The Roots of Belonging: Places lived and lands that shaped them.
People and Object Memories: Individuals and heirloom items that hold deep meaning.
Life Review: Key moments, life lessons, and wisdom they wish younger generations knew.
Key Information for Activity Directors
Zero Art Experience Required:
The workshop is structured so that any resident can participate, regardless of their artistic background or perceived skill level.Fully Accessible and Adaptive:

The facilitator designs the curriculum, provides all safe, nontoxic art and collage materials, manages the setup, and leads the full 90-minute session.Safe and Reassuring Space:

Logistical Specifications
Duration: 90 Minutes
Optimal Group Size: 6 to 12 participants (ensures intimate conversation and personalized attention)
Space Requirements: A quiet room with tables for art making and comfortable seating.
Introductory Pilot Rate: $75 – $150 per gathering (inclusive of all supplies and travel costs)
About the Facilitator
Jennifer M. Brown is a multi-disciplinary professional, textile designer, and trained
deathworker with over a decade of experience managing collaborative fabrication
spaces and volunteering in community care networks. Guided by a pursuit of
relational care, their work focuses on helping older adults and our elders discover a
sense of belonging and agency through the powerful medicine of personal storytelling.
