Shipping and Handling Policies
Currency
Under The Root uses Stripe which includes Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover, JCB, Diners Club, Carte Bancaire, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Afterpay/Clearpay, Klarna, Link by Stripe, and Automated Clearing House to accept payment. We have also included PayPal and Venmo.
The prices are in USD.
When converting prices to another currency a slight price variation between 2 to 5 percent may occur due to fluctuating exchange rates. When an item is charged to a credit card you may be charged fees determined by your bank. The responsibility for the extra charges, if incurred, remain with the buyer. Please visit http://www.xe.com/ to access the current exchange rates for your country.
Shipping
Under The Root can be purchased and shipped worldwide. Your parcel begins in Seattle, Washington, United States. The United States Postal Service takes care of the shipment for all the orders. We use the shipping address at the time of your purchase. If there is a change in the shipping address, this can be sent in an email to undertheroot@gmail.com or use the contact form.
The orders have been handcrafted in the design studio, allow 1 week for your order to reach the United States Post Office and underway to your door.
For now, we are waiving domestic shipping prices for U.S. First Class Mail that comes with USPS Tracking number. Orders will still have the option for an upgrade to Registered Mail at checkout.
United States Domestic Shipping
Domestic Shipping Standard: $13 for first item and $5 for each additional item
Parcels are mailed U.S. First Class Mail with USPS Tracking and usually arrive within 3 to 5 days after delivery to the Post Office. Not registered, no refund for lost orders as this is the fault of the postal service. Under The Root is not responsible for lost orders if standard mail is chosen upon checkout. After 20 years using the USPS, we have yet to lose and order.

Domestic Shipping Registered: Standard + $45
Registered and signed for on delivery. Your parcel is traceable through United States Post Office if lost in transit to you. The parcel arrives approximately 2 to 4 business days after shipping confirmation has been sent to you.
International Shipping
International Shipping Standard: $35 - $62 for the first item and $10 for each additional item
First Class Mail International and usually arrives 2 to 4 weeks after delivery to the United States Post Office and confirmation sent to you. A Customs Form number allows us to track your order only until it leaves the United States. Not registered, no refund for lost orders as this is the fault of the postal service. Under The Root is not responsible for lost orders if standard mail is chosen upon checkout.

International Shipping Registered Mail: Standard + $60 - $73
Your parcel is Registered and traceable through United States Post Office if lost in transit to you. The parcel arrives approximately 10 to 12 business days after shipping confirmation has been sent to you.
International Shipping Notes:
Your parcel may be held for additional customs/duty/VAT specific to your country. These fees are separate from your purchase. They are different for each country. Sometimes, this adds additional days to your shipping time.
Lost or Missing Shipments
Please note: Under The Root is not responsible for damage or loss during shipping. The responsibility for lost, damaged, or stolen orders remain with the buyer. The upgrade to Registered Mail does offer more protection. There are no refunds if your parcel is lost, damaged, stolen, or missing once it leaves the studio and in the hands of United States Post Office and National Postal Service.
Custom Duties and Taxes

Rush Orders
There are no options for rush orders at this time. We do uphold the fair placement of orders received as they populate a queue for shipping and handling.
If you need it today, there are gift vouchers available in the handcrafted goods section. These have become a welcomed way to offer someone a more immediate gift or donation. Gift Vouchers help so that you do not have to feel vexed about choosing a gift, and the anxiousness of awaiting the parcel is eliminated.
